Halo 3 in churches

http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2007/10/three-ordinary-articles.html By, Karl Fisch

This about three different articles but I'm going to concentrate on the Halo in churches. In this article it talks about how churches around the country are using the hit game Halo 3 to attract young people to the church. I think this is very strange, how does a church that is there to teach religion and spread the word of god going to hold Halo nights to get more teens to attend church. Even though its seems morally wrong, it would make me go to church more. If my church offered halo nights in return for an hour of worship then I'm game! Even though I've been in splints and a cast for about three weeks I keep up on my "gaming." Yet It still puzzles me how a place of religion and peace offers one of the most violent games outhere just for teens to go to church, but what ever floats your boat I could really care less what decisions they make.

local/ Brandon Marshell gets DUI

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_7250465

In this article it talks about Denver Bronco receiver Brandon Marshell getting a DUI this weekend. Really! I understand you're of the age and had just upset the Steelers and you want to celebrate, but call a cab. If you're a professional athlete then act like you deserve to be one, if you make millions of dollars for playing your favorite sport then why take any chances by doing stupid things like drinking and driving! That just ties into all the other things happening around the league! For example, Mike Vick who just a couple years ago was the highest paid man in the NFL but I guess he loves torchering and killing animals more than playing pro football and making hundreds of millions of dollars. The list goes on and on for NFL players getting into trouble, Pacman Jones, Mike Vick, Terrel Owens, The Bengals and so on. But the thing that really turns me green are players who get caught for drugs. It is the stupidest thing in the world! Playing pro ball isn't fun enough so you have to snort some drugs and make it rain on dem ladies (Pacman!) NFL players are some of the dumbest people. Don't get me wrong NBA and MLB and all the other pro sport leagues have there fair share of stupid people, but its mostly NFL and NBA. They all need to look in the mirror and be reminded that they are role models for people around the world and leaders of there teams, and they need to grow up and start acting like professionals.

http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2007/05/wikipedia-4-out-of-5-experts-agree.html By Carl Ficsh

In this article it talks about how 4 out of 5 scholars agree that wikipetia is accurate and is good for research. Honestly I think it doesn't matter. If somebody thinks that it is not a reliable source good for them just look it up elsewhere. Except they don't they feel it necessary to complain about it and go on about how bad it is. That's nice but its only your opinion and I could care less what someone thinks is a reliable search engine. If i like it and they don't am i supposed to just see the light and change my mind and then be another attention wanting person who wants to complain about every little thing? So if it truly helps someone sleep at night knowing that they just made them selves look like a three year old that feels it necessary to whine all the dang time!

6 year old wants snack. PLN Local

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_7128230 By Kirk Mitchell Denver post

In this article a 6 yer old boy who was hungry and wanting a snack took his car set and put it in the drivers seat. He then turned on the car and backed out to go to applebees, but he couldn't make the car go forward and hit a electric transformer. This article is funny and you can laugh all you want but where were the parents? I can understand a child getting out of sight but long enough for him to set a car seat u and back out of the garage and into a transformer. Its just bad parenting. At the bottom of the article it states that the child wont be charged, that's all good but maybe they should fine the parents or sentence them to parenting class or something because that can not go unnoticed. It might be just me but i would lock my car from now on if i were them., soon enough he will learn to put it in drive.

Ed. Blog 2
http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2007/10/more-thoughts-on-filtering.html

In this article in the Fisch bowl it talks about the rights being taken away from the students and teachers who try and use websites like youtube but cant. Schools have put such a strong restriction on sites and other materials that it is taking away so much information that could be used. It also takes away our rights to read and view these websites. Just the other day my Spanish teacher needed to use youtube to show us a dance from a spanish country but could not. I one hundred percent agree that teachers and students should have more freedom on the internet at school.

Greeley mayoral candidate defends pulling gun.

In this article from the Denver post, it talks about how Clark pulled a gun stopping a suspect from driving away after dropping off minors to fight. The boy refused to get out of his car and Clark pulled his gun. Clarks opponent in the election says it was wrong but the parents of the school disagree, and so do I. If someone has dropped off minors to fight and is dumb enough to resist and lock himself in his car then there is every right to threaten him with a firearm. And he did to ensure the safety of the children at school.

personal learning blog/ world ed.

http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2007/07/colorado-were-41.html - The Fisch Bowl

Colorado #41

In this post Mr. Fisch says how technology is not the answer to everything in education but it is important. I completely agree with what he is saying. In our education today we still need to learn things like balancing equations and chemical formulas and technology cant teach us those thing. But I also think that in our generation and the ones to follow, technology will be more important then ever. Years from now the air force wont need pilots to fly jets but someone to fly it from hundreds of miles away with a controller. If people don't learn about technology or how to use computers then a couple years from now they will be put out of a job because they cant use Microsoft word or simple things like that. SO i think that technology is one thing that should be taught more about in school.
